It's so lovely and clear today I could see the ocean when I went out for a walk earlier. I'm having a little breather day. Ignoring everything I should be doing and doing what I feel like doing - very therapeutic.
One of those things is revisiting some of my favourite buttons to stitch up a few gifts. I'm also preparing to make these dancing scarecrows with my class to celebrate harvest time. Collecting scraps of fabric, spare buttons and straw so they can cut and stick to their hearts content. The children I taught last year enjoyed making these so much that I'm repeating the project this year.
So a little reminder, before the Autumn passes and we're into Christmas, you can download this template if you have little ones who'd enjoy a go at making their own dancing scarecrows.
Thank you Cassi for linking the scarecrows last week on the fabulous Crafty Crow - a fantastic craft site for parents and teachers too.
Addition: Amy and her four children have been scarecrowing up a storm. Their gorgeous little dancing straw people are now even welcoming visitors to their blog Little White Schoolhouse.
We are going to make some dancing scarecrows today! Looking forward to it! We, too, are in need of some therapy time. Thanks for the idea!

Lovely Amy, perhaps you could have a field of scarecrows instead of corn ;) I'm so pleased your children have enjoyed making them.
